Indoor cannabis gardening can at times be a time consuming and expensive venture. When you are not equipped with the right accessories like modern grow lights, the whole process will be a little bit difficult and heartbreaking. It is very easy to convince yourself that you can start an indoor garden with fluorescent or high-pressure sodium lamps. However, you will never get anywhere close to where you would have got with LED grow lights.
The King Plus Double Chip LED Grow Lights brings a whole lot of advanced technology in the grow light industry. It is a perfect lighting for all stages in the growth cycle from seedling to vegging to flowering. The light will also work perfectly for clones. What makes these grow lights more appealing is the fact that they come in four different variants with power outputs of 600 watts, 800 watts, 1000 watts, and 1,200 watts.

King Plus Double Chip LED Grow Lights Features and Benefits
When I first took a glace on the King Plus Double Chip LED Grow Lights, I thought they looked like the standard LED grow lights. That is, with a series of LEDs that offer different light spectrum. However, after taking a closer look I noticed the double chips in the individual diodes. Since I am very conversant with grow lights, these LEDs were different. The unit features two 5 watts diodes on every chip, a total of 10 watts, making it twice as bright as the standard LED chip. It is the first grow light with this technology, which brings a whole lot of advancement in the field of indoor gardening.
Apart from coming up with brighter LEDs, the manufacturer went a step further by incorporating a “zener protector” in each diode. With this kind of protection, you are assured that the LED won’t burn-out even after a long period of use. Needless to say, if one diode burns out, the others will still function. Thus, the entire lamp is kept running even with a failure of one piece of the LEDs. In the past, the entire grow light panel would die in an event where one diode burnt out.
The King Plus Double Chip LED Grow Lights emit a full light spectrum for optimum growth of your plants. Whereas other brands have come up with a technology where each LED produce a full light spectrum with various light bands, the King Plus’ case is a bit different. For example, the 800W unit features 80 pieces of double-chip LED diodes. Out of these pieces, 58 emit red light, 12 emit deep blue light, 4 emit warm white light, 4 emit yellow light, and each of the two remaining pieces emits ultraviolet and infrared lights.
With these light wavelengths that range from 410nm to 730nm(IR), you are assured of optimum luminosity when using the unit over your plants. It is as efficient as the natural sunlight. The blue and yellow light ensures that your plants thrive well during the vegetative stage by producing thick, green leaves. On the other hand, the red and white lights help your plants get superfluous blooming during the flowering stages. Since infrared lights can’t be seen by the human eye, you might not be able to spot it on the panel. In any case, I will advise against looking the bright panel with naked eyes.
If you are worried about the heat produced by this bright LED grow light, you should worry no more. It has been equipped with a couple of heat sinks that feature ball bearing fans which are constantly running to keep the temperatures at an ideal range. Furthermore, there are multiple ventilation openings that offer a substantial airflow so long as the tool is operating.
Since the unit comes with hanging hooks, all you need is to get your tool and suspend it at the right height over your plants’ canopy and you are good to go. On the top of the panel, there are metal eyelets where you will connect the hook clips. When adjusting, you will find it easy since they ratchet in place. Thus, you can move it up or down without the need for any other tool. The recommended hanging distance is about 1.2 to 2 meters.

Drawback of Having the King Plus Double Chip LED Grow Lights
Unfortunately, the panel does not include an option for the daisy-chain feature. If you are looking to incorporate multiple units in your indoor garden, you may want to explore other alternatives of chaining them with minimum power cords. Furthermore, the unit is too bright and can potentially harm the smaller plants when hanged too closer. You should keep a height of over 1.5 meters for seedling and clones’ stages to avoid burning your plants.
Useful Tips When Using the King Plus Double Chip LED Grow Lights
Whereas the manufacturer recommends a height of 1.2 to 2 meters when using this grow light on your plants, I think you will need a few tweaks for optimum yields. During the clones and seedling stages, you can keep this distance since they don’t need much light. However, you should lower the unit a little bit further during the vegetative stage to about one meter (30 to 36 inches). In the blooming stage, your plants need much light and hence you will need to lower it further to about 20 inches. Don’t worry about the bright and warm light, your plants won’t burn.
Verdict
The King Plus Double Chip LED Grow Lights have been designed to offer continuous years of successful indoor gardening. Whether you are a novice indoor grower or an experienced cannabis gardener, the grow light will work perfectly fine. With the 10 watts diodes, zener protection, and over 50,000 hours rated lifespan the unit is a worthy investment.
